In 1996, Macromedia bought FutureSplash and released it as Flash. Adobe purchased Macromedia in 2005 and since Flash was their’s, it is now developed and distributed by Abode.

4.What is the future of Flash?

Flash was created during the PC era and made PCs and mice.  But this is the mobile and touch era which includes touch interfaces and other new technologies and this where Flash falls flat. Also, HTML5 was recently introduced and in some people’s minds, it is much better.

Adobe’s own VP and general manager of interactive development, Danny Winokur, himslef wrote, “HTML5 is now universally supported on major mobile devices, in some cases exclusively. This makes HTML5 the best solution for creating and deploying content in the browser across mobile platforms. We are excited about this, and will continue our work with key players in the HTML community, including Google, Apple, Microsoft and RIM, to drive HTML5 innovation they can use to advance their mobile browsers.”

5.What will Flash be replaced by?

I think the new program, HTML5, will takeover flash. Some companies have already started using HTML5 such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, and Apple Safari alot.
